Who We Are

Street-Riders were established in 2013 and since then we have established ourselves as a excellent provider of quality training, with patient and friendly instructors, and well maintained clean motorcycles.

We are one of the only schools in the local area that can offer full on site training seven days a week, on our extensive training area. We also have plenty of onsite parking. Here at Street-Riders we pride ourselves on helping you achieve your dreams of riding a motorcycle. Our instructors specialise in ladies and nervous pupils, helping install confidence in all our trainees.

What is a CBT?

The CBT (Compulsory Basic Training) is a days course split into five elements that must be taken by someone who wishes to ride a motorcycle on the road. Upon completing the CBT this enables a provisional motorcycle licence holder to ride up to 50cc moped at 16 or above or a 125cc motorcycle at 17 or above, for 2 years.

How Long is my CBT Certificate For?

If you successfully complete all the elements and achieve the required safe standard you will receive a CBT certificate which lasts for two years minus one day.

I need another CBT Certificate?

Duplicate CBT Certificates can be purchased for £20.00

What License Do I Need?

AM = At 16 - You can take your test on a moped.
A1 = At 17/18 - You can take your test on a learner 125cc bike.
A2 = At 19 - You can take your test on a learner 400cc bike.
A = At 24 - You can take your test on a 600cc bike.

What is a MOD1?

Module one is the first part of the motorcycle test, it is a practical test that takes place at a DVSA site.

The module one test consists of a number of exercises.
  • A manual handling exercise, pushing the bike from one box to another.
  • A slalom and figure and two figure of eights
  • A slow ride
  • A U-turn
  • A cornering and controlled stopping exercise
  • An emergency stop
  • A swerve avoidance manoeuvre

What is a MOD2?

Module two is the second part of the test only after completion of this test will you obtain a licence. It involves a 30-40 minute ride taking in different road and traffic conditions. They will ask you some show me tell me questions and check your eyesight.

What Happens On A CBT?

The Five Elements of a CBT are as follows
  • Element A is a chat about safety clothing.
  • Element B is an introduction to the motorcycle controls, some basic maintenance.
  • Element C is the practical learning session, where you learn to ride the bike doing things like pulling away and stopping, slow control and u-turns.
  • Element D is a pre road ride chat on things like positioning, Highway Code amongst other things.
  • Element Eis a two hour road ride
